Creating individual collage styles in the bathroom with L-Cube

A collage is the epitome of individuality and creativity. The combination of shapes, colours and materials gives rise to new aesthetic creations. L-Cube – the new bathroom furniture program designed by Christian Werner – allows the bathroom to be the stage for a perfect design collage. The style, function, 'feel' and colour scheme are determined by each user in accordance with their own personal preferences, allowing them to create an amazing variety of washing area designs. With L-Cube, Duravit is presenting a new furniture range that is particularly notable for providing custom storage solutions that offer excellent value for money.

The design character of L-Cube is defined by geometric lines. The interplay of horizontal and vertical lines creates a functional and structured look. The subdivision of the furniture fronts into rectangles and squares highlights the cubic appearance of the furniture compositions. A key characteristic of the range is a shadow gap that surrounds the fronts and sides of the furniture. This visual framing places the washbasin on a higher level – making it appear as if the ceramics, furniture and furniture fronts do not touch one another. Even with the console applications, the body and supports appear to be separate from one another. Thanks to the new tip-on technology with self-closing, the handle-free drawers come together to create a harmonious whole. The result is a collage-like arrangement of recurrent forms that offers a sense of visual calm.

With 30 different surfaces, the scope for design freedom is practically unlimited. Available in high-gloss finishes in Apricot Pearl, Jade and Dolomiti Grey, as well as with real-wood fronts in brushed dark oak finish, Duravit offers an unlimited number of combinations. The horizontally or vertically arranged shelf elements with open shelves are the perfect complement to the overall design of L-Cube. Thanks to their slim forms, they are an ideal fit for the collage, helping to dissolve the traditional furniture arrangement. They create additional colour highlights in the new finishes.

The user also enjoys flexibility from the selection of forms. Vanity units from 600 mm to 1200 mm can be paired with ceramics from the new ME by Starck and P3 Comforts ranges. There is a choice of either one or two drawers offering plenty of storage space. These are fitted with high-quality drawer dividers in Maple or Walnut. The interior of the body is rendered in elegant diamond black. The floor-standing version with chrome frame or panel emphasizes the balanced proportions of L-Cube. The console applications in both the 550 mm and 480 mm depths also offer a great deal of variety. This shorter projection is particularly suited to smaller bathrooms. All console basins and undercounter washbasins from Duravit's ceramic ranges can be configured with L-Cube. Tall cabinets in two different heights offer space for items best kept out of sight. One design highlight is the semi-tall cabinet with a modular appearance – underscoring the modular character of the range as a whole.

Duravit also offers mirror elements with an integrated dimmer function that match the geometry of the furniture. For the first time, glare-free LED illumination has been implemented on all four sides, guaranteeing optimum illumination up to 480 Lux at a pleasant 3500 degrees Kelvin.
