Leading British ventilation manufacturer Vent-Axia has unveiled details of its new Uniflexplus+ semi-rigid ducting system which is ideal for the self-build market.
Offering speedy, simple installation, improved hygiene and greater versatility, than standard rigid ductwork, the Uniflexplus+ is ideal for use with Vent-Axia’s market-leading mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) systems.
Uniflexplus+ is a low-profile, easy to install system that can be used in a wide range of places, including tight and hard to access spaces. This innovative ducting system is modular with few standard components which can be adapted to create solutions tailored to individual projects.
Meanwhile, the flexible nature of the Uniflexplus+ means that it can also be fitted around existing services and joists. This ease of installation is a significant advantage over rigid ductwork, which requires joints to be fixed and sealed every few metres and joists to be drilled for fixing.
All these benefits add up to a versatile ducting system that can be adapted to suit almost any site or application design. The Uniflexplus+ is simple to install in comparison to both rigid ductwork and other semi-rigid systems, meaning installation time is reduced.

The premium Uniflexplus+ is produced using the latest manufacturing systems and high quality materials and has aerodynamically designed, lightweight plastic plenums which provide good airflow and are easy to install. The ducting also offers improved hygiene over competitors since it is antibacterial, anti-static and can be cleaned using pipe cleaners.
Semi-rigid ducting is designed for use with MVHR systems which duct air around a building extracting moist air and supplying clean air. In addition to the Uniflexplus+, Vent-Axia offers a full range of MVHR systems which combine supply and extract ventilation in one unit. Warm, moist air is extracted from ‘wet’ rooms through ducting, such as the Uniflexplus+, and passed through a heat exchanger before being exhausted outside. Fresh incoming air is preheated via the integral heat exchanger, which recovers nearly 90% of the heat that would otherwise be wasted.
